Jeff was great to work with because he was efficient, direct, friendly, and very reassuring. We are a busy family. Between work and kids, we don't have a lot of extra time and he was very efficient. I didn't feel like I was losing my mind running around doing things for the loan.
Things went pretty smoothly and I felt like he handled everything very well. Jeff was also very direct. He told us what was happening, where we stood, concerns that could arise and more.
Any time I had a question, he was open and direct about what it could mean for our loan. There was never really a time that I was confused or not sure where we stood in the process. The few times I had questions he was able to explain things to me very easily.
He was also very friendly. As someone who has worked on the phones before, I know that it is not always easy to develop relationships with clients and customers. He was wonderful to work with and fun to talk to. He made me laugh and helped me to relax as we went through this situation.
Right after the loan was closed I actually had a moment where I kind of missed talking to him. Jeff was also reassuring. There were times in this process that we ran into some snags and encountered some issues that could have been a deal breaker.
He was so calm and positive that it really helped us relax about the situation. Our story of getting to this point is long and complicated. We feel so lucky and happy to have this wonderful home and to have gone through the mortgage process with little complication.
Our story starts with a serious injury that lead to a bad financial situation and ends with us working very hard to put things back together and get into this home that we love. It is something that many can relate to and we would certainly consider sharing it.
We are moved in to our new home and loving it.
First let me say that my experience was a journey because I had some credit issues to begin with. I was referred to the department of secondary approval and Anne Billington was assigned to assist me. She was absolutely wonderful to work with and gave me all of the steps I needed to take. She followed up regularly and gave me very valuable assistance that enabled me to go to work on my credit issues and get it to where it needed to be.
I can't say enough about how grateful I am to Anne and the assistance she provided. Once my credit was at the right point, Ryan Bray was assigned as my VA Loan specialist. He was absolutely wonderful to work with and helped me get everything into place and get preapproved.
Ryan also followed up and made sure that all of my questions were answered. There were a few hurdles to overcome, but Ryan was able to get us through each of them. And I think the thing that I was most impressed with is that there came a moment when it seemed as though my real estate agent was looking out more for the seller than he was for me, and Ryan picked up on it and quickly addressed it in a brilliant email that ended up saving me several thousands of dollars.
At that moment, I knew that Ryan was truly looking out for my best interest. I was extremely impressed with both of the individuals above and I truly believe that they are the direct reason I am living in my new home right now. A company is only as good as the people whom it employees, and I can't stress enough that in both Anne and Ryan, Veterans United Home Loans has struck gold and I hope is aware of that fact and treats the two in a way so as to keep them.
Our experience with the underwriter was a bit different experience. However, I because of the relationship of trust that had been established through Ryan's earlier actions, when my real estate agent made the suggestion that we look elsewhere at a local lender who had VA Loan experience, I quickly explained to him that I would look for a new real estate agent before I would look for a new lender.
I told him that I was very comfortable with my VA Loan specialist and was confident that he would be able to help us get to where we needed to be.
From the start, my dealing with your staff was nothing but professional. My first VA Loan specialist, Mark Dishert, was courteous, informative, attentive and extremely knowledgeable. He guided me through the pre-qualification process and got me set up to purchase a home in Ohio. He is a genuine person and a great VA Loan specialist.
Unfortunately, I had to switch another specialist because I chose to purchase a home in Kentucky rather than in Ohio, where Mark was not licensed. I was placed with Ryan Harrison.
My loan was not an easy one. To be honest it's one of the most emotionally charged roller coasters I have ever embarked on. Although I had a decent credit score and steady income, we ran into two huge unforeseen financial obstacles, in which both times I was for sure my pursuit for my dream home would end in disappointment.
But Ryan and his assistant, Morgan Evans, were diligent in finding new solutions to help me get the home I wanted.
It all came down to a payout at the end of the loan, money that I had saved up and was more than happy to pay, but knew was going to put me in a post-loan financial situation I had not anticipated.
With a cashier' check in hand, I was driving to the closing when I had received a call from Ryan, who informed me he was taking the money out of his own commission in order to prevent me from coming out of pocket any further. I was speechless! Being grateful for this is an understatement.
You are lucky to have people working for you with such a detailed knowledge of their trade, while displaying the pinnacle of moral integrity and character. I commend Ryan and the rest of Veterans United Home Loans.
May your business never waver and know that any veterans using your service are lucky to have found you.
I would first like to say thank you for helping us achieve our dream of buying a home.
This was a very difficult process for me and my wife Molly: Seven months of questions, denials and poor customer service.
That all ended when I made a call to your company and was put in contact with Mason Maddox, our VA Loan specialist. Mason was outstanding from the beginning and never ceased to amaze me with the lengths he was willing to go to make sure that we got our home.
Our bad experiences with other loan companies were completely wiped clean because of how Mason treated me and my wife. He is an outstanding person and a great asset to your company.
I had the most incredibly wonderful homebuying experience.
Each and every person I had talked to was just so very kind and professional! The knowledge they each possess just made the home buying experience so much easier.
It was a little touch and go on closing day because of a last minute hitch however the wonderful people at Veterans United Home Loans took care of everything.
I would recommend Veterans United to many people and I just can't stop talking about the entire process with everyone within ear shot!
I am very blessed to have had all the wonderful people. Jeff Magsaman, Patrick Cox and everyone else helped me to accomplish a major dream of mine!
Thank you so very much!
Doug and Chrissy were fantastic.
Communication was timely, to the point and only when needed.
Directions were clear and patience was endless as this mortgage initially started with me contacting Doug via email from Afghanistan while deployed clearing minefields and bombs.
We agreed to buy a house from family members, and the process was slow and tedious to say the least. But Doug was a professional throughout the entire process.
Veterans United Home Loans, Doug and Chrissy will forever standout as true professionals providing an outstanding service to all me and women in today's military and veterans.
I could not be happier that my wife and I chose to seek a mortgage through Veterans United.
I appreciate all that Joanne did for me and my family.
She is very professional and goes the extra mile to make sure the transaction is smooth and keeps moving forward.
I am and was very impressed by how easy it was to get in touch with her and that she was able to make you feel like you were her only client at the time, even though she has to be extremely busy.
We are so happy and couldn't have asked for a better team of people to work with.
From the date we signed the contract with the seller to closing was 30 days (we have been told that was pretty quick).
Jake Levy was a jewel; any time we had a question he was right there with an answer or advice.
All in all the experience has been much easier and pleasant than we imagined and most of the credit goes to your team there.
The real estate agent you got us in contact with was wonderful - she took time to find out what we were looking for and kept looking until we found what we wanted.
My experience with Jeff Mize and Veterans United Home Loans has been more than I could have ever anticipated.
It seems in this day and age it is hard to find companies that treat you like a human being and demonstrate an actual concern for what the customer is trying to get accomplished.
Jeff made my family and I feel like we were a top priority in every step of the way from getting qualified to closing ahead of schedule.
Jake Presti handled our loan and I must say that I have never dealt with a more competent and outstanding individual.
Jake continually exceeded our expectations in every way. He was completely professional in every aspect when dealing with us on the phone and he also made us feel like he was a friend there to help and guide us through every step of the process.
It was easy to tell that he truly enjoyed his job and derived much pleasure out of helping others.
I truly can't say enough good things about what Jake did for us and highly recommend that Jake be recognized for his outstanding professionalism.
